Squads

New swimmers will be assessed as to their current swimming capabilities and put into training squads that suit those capabilities. An outline of the available squads is below. Training is provided by qualified licensed coaches through Swimming WA and who are also registered with ASCTA (Australian Swimming Coaches & Teachers Association). All pool sessions are at the Leschenault Leisure Centre unless specified otherwise.

Platinum Squad

The pathway available for this squad is State Championships, National Age Qualification and membership into the Swimming WA South West Region Representative Team.

COACH: Taarna Cam

QUALIFICATION: Bronze License (Silver License underway)

TIMES:

Swimmers attend five pool and two dry land strength and conditioning sessions per week. Swimmer are also encouraged to attend weekly Club time trials.

Monday to Friday: 5:15am to 7am (pool session)
Tuesday & Thursday: 3:30pm to 4:30pm

Gold Squad

The pathway available for this squad is State Junior/Senior Championships and targeted competition meets.

COACH: Taarna Cam

Swimmers attend four training pool and two dry land strength and conditioning sessions per week. Swimmer are also encouraged to attend weekly Club time trials.

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday: 5:15am to 7am (pool session)
Tuesday & Thursday: 3:30pm to 4:30pm

Silver Squad

The pathway for this squad is State Junior/Senior Championships and targeted competition meets.

QUALIFICATION: Green License (Bronze underway)

TIMES:

Swimmers attend three sessions per week and Club time trials.

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 6pm to 7:30pm

Bronze Squad

Training is aimed at improving swimming skills covering all four strokes. The pathway available for this squad is State Junior Championships and targeted competition meets.

COACH: Shane Jamieson

QUALIFICATION: Green License

TIMES:

Swimmers attend three sessions per week and Club time trials

Monday, Wednesday & Thursday: 6pm to 7:30pm

Flippers

Priority is given to ensuring the squad are proficient in all strokes to prepare them to compete in targeted competition meets.

The pathway available to these swimmers is to the Junior Development Squad.

COACH: Kasey Hill

QUALIFICATION: Green License underway

TIMES:

Swimmers attend two training sessions per week and Club time trials.

Wednesday & Thursday: 6-7pm

Junior Dolphins

This squad is supported by Swimming Australia. Junior Dolphin is the next step from learn to swim before becoming a squad swimmer.

Swimmers attend one 45 minute training session per week and are encouraged to participate in our Club Time Trial nights and Junior Dolphin carnivals.

Swimmers are coached to achieve skills and drills covering all strokes in a fun non-competitive environment.
